Wines
Cantina del Garda Soave- $12.99/btl $2.50/taste
Veneto, Italy
100% Garganega, never not doing its job by making one of the most crushable, soul-quenching, lightly aromatic white wines on planet earth! I hold no punches regarding my affinity for this grape, and REFUSE TO!
Cantina del Garda Valpolicella- $12.99/btl $2.50/taste
Veneto, Italy
Before Ripasso and Amarone or even Appassimento, the humble Valpolicella is made using Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella varietals, and it is good. While we all enjoy a big baddie, there is space at the table for this lighter, more fragrant expression. Perfect for nearly any hot evening on the patio, and excellent with a bit of a chill; don’t sleep on Valpo!
Sonnino Chianti- $12.99/btl $2.50/taste
Tuscany, Italy
An oldie but a goodie!! Still such a banger for the price. Sangiovese and Canaiolo with a tippy touch of Trebbiano and Malvasia (white grapes) in the cuvee as a nod to the olden recipe for one of our favorite Italian DO wines!
Siepegrande Brunello di Montalcino- $39.99/btl $2.50/taste
Tuscany, Italy
South and east of Chianti lives Montalcino, and south of that is the DOCG for Brunello di Montalcino- the namesake of one of the finest liquids ever derived from the cosmic coincidence of both human beings and grapes existing at the same time. In 1980, Brunello di Montalcino was among the first 4 wines awarded DOCG status in Italy… and remains one of their most expensive… BUT THIS ONE IS ONLY $39.99 AND IT’S AMAZING.
