Parducci Wine Tasting

Parducci Wine Cellars was founded by John “Mr. Mendocino” Parducci back in 1932. He was an early champion of this Northern California wine region and considered one of the greatest wine makers of the 20th century. His continuing legacy continues with the Thornhill family who now own and have operated the winery for three generations. They have a firm belief in sustainable wine making and play a major part in wildlife habitat preservation and water conservation.

Featured Wines:

1) Parducci Pinot Gris 2018

Mendocino, California; $12.99

This is an excellent coastal Pinot Gris. That added sunshine really helps develop some ripe peach and tropical fruit flavors. The cool maritime climate also helps retain lots of freshness and a balanced acidity. - Sample $1.00

2) Parducci Petite Sirah 2016

Mendocino, California; $12.99

My favorite out of the “Small Lot” series. Petite Sirah is a Mendocino specialty and their higher True Grit tier Petite Sirah was a customer favorite on a previous wine tasting. This one sees an incredibly long 20 month barrel aging on a $13 wine. Aromas of cherry, blackberry, mint and chocolate, this big red is spicy, with dark fruit flavors and supple tannins. - Sample $1.00

3) True Grit Reserve Red 2016

Mendocino, California; $17.99

46% Syrah, 29% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 5% Grenache and 5% Merlot aged 16 Months in small oak.

“Aromas of oak and smoke are well integrated in this full-bodied and broad-textured wine. It offers a bit of swagger as it wraps flavors of blackberry jam and grilled meat in a fairly thick coating of tannins on the palate. It's big but balanced and has plenty of flavor to chew on.” Wine Enthusiast 90pts - Sample $1.50

4) True Grit Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Mendocino, California; $17.99

Blended with tiny amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah for some added depth and body. Dense fruit up front with flavors of black cherry and currant. Round soft tannins with a vanilla driven finish from a bit of oak. - Sample $1.50
