Originally operating under the guidance of MaryAnn Graf, the first woman to earn a Enology degree from UC Davis and California's First Woman Winemaker of the Modern Era (Simi Winery). After receiving excellent critical acclaim in the early 90's Bill was able to establish a partnership with the Groth family to secure amazing quality fruit from Alexander and Russian River Valleys. Insane value you right here with a brand new Pinot Grigio to the store. Coming from the Delle Venezie region in the northeaster corner of Italy. This region is a perfect climate to produce ripe and flavorful white wines while retaining lots of acidity. Classic flavors of white peaches and pears dominate the aromatics, but they due add some overripe grapes to the fermentation that intensify notes of tropical fruits. Sourced from Alexander Valley in the northern part of Sonoma. Only sitting at about 75% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Aged 18 months in all French oak. Aromas of blackberry, currant and tobacco hit the nose. A punch of fruit up front on the palate with a smooth finish that reminds me of chocolate covered cherries.
