I Pastini Antico Bianco d’ Locorotondo 2022- $14.99/btl $2.50/taste
Puglia, Italy
Between the cities of Bari and Brindisi in southern Italy is Puglia, and in Puglia there is the tiny limestone plateau (and white wine producing DOC) of Locorotondo- known as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. The grapes of this region -and in this bottle- Verdeca, Bianco d’Alessano and Minutolo, were planted in 2001 in the red clay soils in the heart of the tiny province. Dry and mineral-driven with hints of lemon and white pepper- finishing beautifully with lush sea-spray tonality. KERMIT LYNCH IMPORT/ WAS $29.99/ YOU SAVE $15
ROSE GOLD Rose 2021- $5.99/btl $2.50/taste
Provence, France
Comprised of the classic, regionally-touted varietals Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan and hand-harvested at night, Rose Gold is a love song to the south of France. All traditional Provencal winemaking methods are upheld and the result is, when not 4 vintages old, very wispy and light. But, where we are now, it’s become a far more serious wine. And seriously on sale. WAS $24.99/ YOU SAVE $19
Murdoch Hill Pinot Noir 2021- $14.99/btl $2.50/taste
Adelaide Hills, South Australa
Australia makes GD Delicious Pinot Noir (and Chardonnay, too) and this wine is no exception. Fruit-forward with balanced acidity, herbal notes and a touch of earthiness. Sustainably produced and thoughtfully imported, I really hope this close-out doesn’t mean the end of Murdock Hill… let’s just enjoy the good deal and open our minds a bit to the wines of Australia, shall we?
