If you would have told me 2 weeks ago that a 100% Chardonnay Method Traditional sparkling wine from Mendoza, Argentina made from organic, volcanic vineyards at 4,000 feet elevation existed and only cost $19.99… Well, I would have bought as much of it as humanly possible and put it on a tasting. Good thing that’s what I did, huh?

Simply put, the Milbrandt Family believes that we can have nice wines, varietally correct wines, well-made wines, for affordable prices. There are other brands (that I will not mention) that think they’re the authority on Pacific Northwestern Riesling. And well, that’s simply not true. So, please enjoy this dry Riesling for all of it’s dry, honeyed apple notes, and for the simplicity of it all.

Sixpence Cabernet Sauvignon 2022- $12.99/btl $2.50/taste

This wine is as ethical as it is delicious. The Opstal Wine Group are so cool. The legend of Sixpence goes that there was this shepherd called Sixpence that would walk the fields where the vineyards are now established and apparently he was just a really stand-up dude! And his descendants WORK there. And 10% of all sales go to them, ON TOP of a living wage. They’re fair trade, environmentally certified. They work tirelessly to ensure only native plant species are on the land. And all of those things are just so important. Oh, and the wine has notes of plum, coffee and cocoa.

DO YOU WISH FOR MORE “SIMPLY” PUNS? Well, you got it! This blend is Simply delicious. However, it is un-simply comprised of 34% Syrah, 33% Merlot and 32% Cabernet Sauvignon. Black cherry, dark chocolate and just a chef’s pinch of black pepper. Simply enjoy!
