BONTERRA NIGHT
‘Bon’ meaning good in French and ‘Terra’ which is Latin for earth come together in this Regenerative Organic winery’s ethos of leaving the earth better than they found it. They are in fact the largest winery to achieve Regenerative Organic status from the ROA which is a collective of farmers, business and environmental leaders and scientists dedicated to soil health, animal welfare and social fairness. They also make good wine! We’re going to be tasting two of their new “estate” wines, and we’re as always pleased as punch to have Michelle Walther here to talk to us about cover crops, regenerative farming and how to be successful as well as conscientious in the wine industry.
Bonterra Estate Chardonnay 2022- $19.99/$2.50/taste
Aromas of pears, apples and citrus enveloped in an herbal/floral cozy blanket. Crnisp and delicious.
Bonterra Rose 2022- $9.99/btl $2.50/taste
A classic. We really love this rose. Grenache dominate with notes of grapefruit, cherries and watermelon.
Bonterra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2021- $19.99/btl $2.50/taste
Layered notes of black cherry, currant and spice. Tobacco and leather pop in there too with a little flint. Long finish with ripe tannins.
THE McNAB Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020- $47.99/btl $5/taste
From the biodynamic McNab Ranch Vineyard in Mendocino, this wine is just lovely. Black currant, fig and dark chocolate aromas with a toasty mid-palate filled with cassis and earthy minerality. A dang good Cab.
