Wines

Evolucio Furmint- 2021

Takaj, Hungary

Furmint is a late-harvest dry white varietal primarily from Hungary, but also in Austria where it’s known as ‘Mosler’ as well as in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. It’s known for its aromatic white peach notes. ‘Tokaji’ the dessert wine of the region, is also made from Furmint, but harvested much later, and affected by Botrytis (Noble Rot). Evolucio Furmint is mineral-driven due to volcanic soils, and has amazing citrus components that make this lil wine totally chuggable.

Jovino Pinot Noir- 2021

Willamette Valley, Oregon

Using grapes from all over the Willamette Valley, Jovino is able to create an affordable AVA Pinot Noir that manages to still be tasty. Minimal use of new French oak barrels allows the wine to still be playful while maintaining the region’s notable cherry, black tea and cedar notes.

$14.99/btl $2.50/taste

Breca El Nacido Garnacha- 2021

Calatayud, Spain

Made with 100% Garnacha de Aragon (which is the oldest Grenache grape clone in the world) the ‘’El Nacido’ label is made using the youngest of the vines grown at the winery, which ONLY grows Garnacha. Breca’s vineyards are entirely dry-farmed and all harvest is conducted manually. This wine is aged partially in concrete (70%) and the remainder is aged in large, neutral, oak vessels. This is the highest-elevated region in Spain to produce Garnacha and thusly tastes way different than your average bear.

$14.99/btl $2.50/taste

Avignonesi Cantaloro- 2019

Tuscany, Italy

Comprised of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and just a TOUCH of Canaiolo, fermented entirely with native yeast, and aged 18 months in stainless steel and Slavonian oak barrels, this little banger is the entry wine to Avignonesi. I love Avignonesi. If you get the chance, you NEED to try their ‘Desidario’ Merlot. Trust me. It’s incredible! Cantaloro is every bit as well-made as their more expensive wines, just ya know, affordable.
