Simply put Sierra Nevada is an OG of craft beer. The release of their flagship Pale Ale in 1981 is really what put Cascade hops on the map and brought attention to American hop varietals for the first time. Even though the recipe for Pale Ale hasn’t changed in the past forty years, Sierra Nevada themselves continues to innovate. Starting with other classics of their portfolio like Torpedo and Bigfoot, and continuing now with their “Little Thing” series. Give these four new innovations a try!
Featured Beers:
Sunny Little Thing Citrus Wheat: A light and easy beer for Summer. Nicely balanced wheat ale with a load of orangey citrus. 5.0%ABV/10IBU
Hazy Little Thing Hazy IPA: This is one of the first nationally distributed Hazy IPAs that really helped push that style. Unfiltered and hit heavy with Citra, Megnum, Simcoe, Comet, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops. 6.7%ABV/35IBU
Big Little Thing Imperial IPA: A richer style with a balanced sweetness. More of the classic “C” hops (Chinook, Cascade) drive home lots of tropical character with a grapefruit backbone. 9.0%ABV/45IBU
Wild Little Thing Sour Ale: As they say “Slightly Sour Ale”. Not too tart with hints of guava, hibiscus, and strawberry. 5.5%ABV/7IBU
