I can’t believe our time has come and we are rounding out the end of 2021 with our final wine tasting! It certainly was a crazy year, but we were very excited to be able to return to doing tastings in the Summer. I just want to thank everyone for supporting us! The last tasting is another killer one. We feature one of our favorite Sauvignon Blancs in the world, and certainly our favorite New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc we carry. Oregon Pinot Noir, Langhe Nebbiolo, and a bomb of a Shiraz from Southern Australia. Come join us this week! We wish everyone happy holidays and look forward to what 2022 will bring!

Featured Wines:

Huia Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Marlborough, New Zealand; $19.99

Huia is the brain child of Claire and Mike Allan who got the first vines in the ground in 1994 and opened the winery two years later. Both spent years in Champagne working for Veuve Cliquot and Taittinger before moving to New Zealand and gaining experience with Cloudy Bay, Vavasour, Corbans and Lawson's Dry Hills. This is a blend of two estate vineyards, their home Huia block and Winsome vineyards. The Huia block is full of sandy silts and stones that retain the suns heat overnight contributing to the ripe tropical flavors. Winsome has hotter days and cooler nights with clay and black sand which created wonderful floral and lime notes. The flavor stands out more tropical than other Sauv. Blancs. Guava, melon, gooseberry, and a zesty limey quality. – Sample $2.00

Soter Vineyards Planet Oregon Pinot Noir 2019

Willamette Valley, Oregon; $21.99

The Planet Oregon line was started by the Soter family to give back to their community. A portion of all proceeds are donated to the Oregon Environmental Council. Made from 100% Pinot Noir all grown in the Willamette Valley.

“This is a sharp and detailed young wine, with tight blackberry fruit that etches its way into your palate. Aged for eight months in neutral barrels, this puts a tart and peppery spin on its lightly chewy tannins. Drink now and through the next half decade.” 90pts Wine Enthusiast – Sample $2.50

Paolo Scavino Langhe Nebbiolo 2019

Piedmont, Italy; $23.99

A 100year old family winery located in the Barolo region of northern Italy. Currently managed by third generation Enrico Sacvino and his two daughters Enrica and Elisa. They currently own about 75 acres of vineyards in the Barolo region. This Nebbiolo is a blend of younger vines from throughout their Barolo vineyards. Aged 10 months in neutral oak to soften out the tannins a bit before bottling. Lean with high acid, tart cherries and plum with notes of leather, tobacco, and licorice. – Sample $2.50

Mollydooker “The Boxer” Shiraz 2019

South Australia, Australia; $29.99

Mollydooker is the creation of Owner & Chief Winemaker Sarah Marquis. Her wines have landed on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 multiple times, and they have grown to nearly 300acres of vineyards throughout South Australia. “Unashamedly bold”, is often used to describe her wines. The 2019 Boxer is 100% Shiraz from vineyards in the McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. Barrel fermented and aged in about 50% new American oak. Dense blackberry jam, blueberry, with hints of black tea and violets. The finish has got some grip, but softens a bit with a heavy hit of vanilla from the oak.  – Sample $3.00
