This Friday will feature four wines brand new to the store! Our friend Tim "Pink" Bockhold from Euro Fine Wines will be behind the bar this week to tell you all about the wines. This flight is traveling all over the world starting with a couple of refreshing wines for Spring, a nice crisp white from Spain and the brand new 2018 rose from the Confidencial series out of Portugal. From there our red selections will take us to Northern Italy for a mind blowing Cabernet Franc and then we finish up the flight in the Pacific Northwest with a big juicy Cab Sauv.

Featured Wines:
2017 Vicente Gandia “Nebla” Verdejo – Castilla y Leon, Spain; $9.99
Founded in 1885 and now run by the fourth generation of the family Gandia. They are available in more than 90 countries on 5 continents and have been considered the best value winery in Spain. They have been named “best Spanish winery”, “Top 50 best wineries in the world” and in 2018, the European Council of Engastronomical Confraternities (CEUCO) awarded the “Auru Europa Excellente” award to Vincente Gandia as “Best European Winery”.
This Verdejo in the perfect spring white. The grapes undergo a long, slow fermentation with no additional aging in barrel. Made to be young, fresh and very crisp. It has a nice richness on the palate with juicy pineapple and mango flavors. - $1.00 Sample
2018 Casa Santos Lima “Confidencial” Reserva Rose – Lisboa, Portugal; $9.99
Casa Santos Lima has been one of the most awarded Portuguese wineries in recent years. They produce about 40% of all of the wine made in Lisboa and now distribute some of the best Portuguese wine values all around the world. Confidencial is one of our best selling wine collections. The name references the fact that they never release the grape varietals in these blends... but who cares they are the definition of crowd pleasing “patio pounders.” This rose has a wonderful intensity. It is bursting with aroma that carries on to the palate. Big flavors of strawberry and raspberry. - $1.00 Sample
2016 Terre Gaie “Brando” Cabernet Franc – Veneto, Italy; $11.99
Terre Gaie (Happy Lands) is a family operation directed by Salvatore Lovo, his wife Rita Ferasin and their daugter silvia. The Terre Gaie estate is located in the village of Vo' Enuganeo, half way between the towns of Padova and Vicenza. It is a very modern estate built in 2004 on the existing property of the Lovo and Ferain families, who have owned vineyards in Vo' since the 1700s.
Brando is produced from 100% estate grown Cabernet Franc. It is easy. A ripe enough style to avoid to many green flavors that are common in Cab Franc. Loads of ripe plums with notes of cocoa, leather and spice. - $1.00 Sample
2014 Treasure Hunter “Full Quiver” Cabernet Sauvignon – Walla Walla, Washington; $19.99
These guys are part of the Three Finger Wine Co., with Treasure Hunter being a separate label for micro-lot and one time release wines. These wines can be some of the absolute best values that individual regions have to offer, but only produced once.
“Marbled black currant and fig make up the fruit core of Full Quiver. Umami components of smoked brisket and pipe tobacco compliment a sublime finish of fresh vanilla and Mexican chocolate. It's big, dark, silky, and at the peak of what Walla Walla Cabernet can be.” - $2.00 Sample
