This is the personal project of Dave Phinney. Famed winemaker that created The Prisoner, Palermo, Papillon among many others. The Locations series was his attempt to work with some great growers around the world and feature some of the best each country or region has to offer… certainly in the Dave Phinney style. These wines deliver that big in your face style at a pricepoint of less than half his typical productions.

Featured Wines:
NZ “7” Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough, New Zealand; $19.99
Produced from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc from all three of the major Marlborough subregions; Southern Valley, Wairau and Awatere. The more northern Wairau is the base of the wine bringing big juicy passionfruit and topical notes, Awatere brings a bit more of the acidity and minerality, and the Southern Valley adds some roundness and depth. Produced in all stainless steel to retain as much bright freshness as possible. Intense aromas of gooseberry, passionfruit, and tangerine. - $1.50 Sample
F “5” – France; $19.99
This is coming from almost everywhere in France. It is mainly a blend of Grenache and Syrah coming from the Rhone Valley and Roussillon in Southern France, but they blend some Bordeaux fruit in to add some structure and depth. Barrel aged for ten months before release.
“A dominant nose of raspberry, rhubarb and wild strawberry are complemented by savory aromas of humid tobacco, lavender and rose petal. An immediate entry of cranberry and other red fruit leads to a touch of savoriness. The wine is fresh and lively with great acidity and approachable tannins.” - $1.50 Sample
E “5” – Spain; $19.99
Another kichen sink of a country… The wine is made from low yield, older vineyards from Priorat, Jumilla, Toro, Rioja and Ribera del Duero. It is a mashup of the different styles from those regions showcasing mainly Achernar and Tempranillo with Carinena and Monastrell playing the supporting cast. This really reminds me of what most strictly California drinkers are missing out on. The wine is silky with loads of plums, black cherry and creamy vanilla from ten months of oak aging. Rich and fruity with soft mellow tannin makes this wine just so easy to drink. - $1.50 Sample
CA “6” – California; $19.99
The CA blend really shows everything that California has to offer. The different climates and soils between Mendocino on the coast, Napa and Sonoma for cooler balance, and the almost Tuscan style of the Sierra Foothills are on display. The balance brings loads of ripe jammy fruit with depth and structure. The wine features Petite Sirah, Barbera, Tempranillo, Syrah and Grenache. Driven by the peppery black fruits of the Petite Sirah with notes of cherries and raspberries. - $1.50 Sample
