Featured Wines:
Drusian Valdobbiadene DOCG Brut Prosecco
Veneto, Italy; $16.99
This particular Prosecco is my absolute favorite and shows how high of quality you can really find. Drusian truly blows the competition out of the water. This ever growing winery is still owned and operated by winemaker Francesco Drusian. Made from 100% estate grown Glera grapes and produced in a longer Charmat style. If you like the flavors here we also carry their Extra Dry version which has just a touch of sweetness compared to the Brut.
“… fragrances including hints of green apple, citrus fruits and fresh vegetables accompanied by a pleasing note of bread. The harmonious and lively freshness results in a crisp and dry finish on the palate.” - Francesco Drusian - $1.50 Sample
Szigeti Gruner Veltliner Brut
Burgenland, Austria; $21.99
What is a bubbly tasting without some totally unique option? Gruner Veltliner is a very atypical varietal for sparkling, but it is a perfect option. Cooler climates, high acid, and good minerality in the fruit create very balanced bubblies. Peter Szigeti took over his parents wine trading business in 1991 and has since lead the company successfully into being a high quality sparkling producer in eastern Austria. The Gruner shines with aromas of stone and citrus fruits and a little spiciness. On the palate you get more ripe apricot and apple that fades into a crisp citrus finish. - Sample $2.00
Charles Bove Touraine Sparkling Rose
Loire Valley, France; $22.99
Founded in the 19th century in Montrichard, in the Loire Valley. The chateau is built on an old rock quarry that has now been converted into 9 miles of underground cellars. They specialize in sparkling wine production and the cellar is the perfect environment to store their nearly two million bottles undergoing aging at any given time. The sparkling rose is a unique blend of Cabernet Franc and Gamay produced methode traditionelle. Dry with hints of raspberry, cherry and strawberry. - Sample $2.00
Laurent-Perrier “La Cuvee” Brut Champagne
Burgundy, France; $49.99
This iconic 200 year old Champagne house has consistently defined the region and style. They introduced stainless steel fermentation tanks to the region in the 1950s, revival of non-vintage rose Champagne in the 1960s, and resurrected the non-dosage Ultra/Extra Brut style in the 1980s. The “La Cuvee” is a 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier blend. It is mainly their 2009 vintage production blended with reserve selections from a few other vintages. With critic scores of 90+ from Parker, Spectator, Enthusiast and more it is no surprise we loved this one and selected it to top off the flight. Rich and creamy brioche notes with crazy complex fruit flavors from bright citrus to melon, currants, and apples. - Sample $5.00
