Wines
Pavao Vinho Verde
Vinho Verde is a DOC in the northwestern part of Portugal and it also refers to the wines from the region. Vinho Verde literally translates to ‘green wine’ or ‘young wine’ and is made by harvesting young grapes from the top of the high trellised pergola trained vines. The wines are released 2-3 months after bottling and are meant to be bright, refreshing, and relatively low in alcohol. Vinho Verde can be white, rose, or even red! The white can be made with up to 19 different indigenous grape varietals and is characterized by it’s fresh apple and pear notes and gently effervesce.

Foris Rose of Pinot Noir- 2022
Rogue Valley, Oregon
This little banger of a rose is made of 100% Pinot Noir, estate grown and harvested by Foris which was established in 1974. The Siskiyou Mountain Valley is a pristine and idyllic place to grow Pinot. The mountains provide shelter from the sun and the soil provides ample root strength and drainage for the fickle grape varietal to thrive. This vintage of rose is lovely with supple strawberry and Meyer lemon aromas.

Zolo Malbec- 2020
Mendoza, Argentina
Malbec sustainably farmed from Lujan de Cuyo “The Land of Malbec” dutifully overseen by winery owner Patricia Ortiz who named the winery Zolo (solo) for her husband Jorge who is left to his own devices every year for weeks during harvest and the subsequent winemaking period that follows. They’re cute! And this wine is good!

Milbrandt Merlot-2019
Columbia Valley, Washington
Butch Milbrandt started a winery in Columbia Valley in the 70’s and even though I wouldn’t like being called “Butch” AT ALL, he really made a name for himself and today the Milbrandt Family of wines has grown immensely, yet has never steered away from their mission of creating wines that embody Washington. Merlot is one of the best varietals (imho) grown in Washington and this vintage is stunning. 100% Merlot from 6 vineyard sites along the valley, brimming with cranberry and cherry notes with a long, smooth finish.
