Bodegas Nodus Chaval 2018

Valencia, Spain; $12.99

100% Bobal… I’m sure a new grape varietal for many. Unique to this region of Spain around Valencia, the grape has good balance of tannin and acidity, and makes extremely food friendly wines. Bodegas Nodus brings a little oak into the aging process rounding out the tannin and adding some notes of vanilla a smoke.

“Attractive wild raspberries and meadow flowers lead to a palate that has a super juicy, lithe and vibrant, blackcurrant and dark plum core. Smooth finish.” 91pts James Suckling – Sample $1.25

Ornato Rosso 2019

Veneto, Italy; $14.99

The Ornato Rosso is a blend of Merlot, Corvina found most commonly in Valpolicella/Amarone, and Negroamaro which is grown almost exclusively in Puglia. Though an atypical blend, these varietals come together in an excellent balance. Body and structure from the Merlot, while the Corvina and Negroamaro deliver some roundness and fruit. Aromas of sweet tobacco, backing spice, blueberry, blackberry, bramble.  Four months in oak gives pleasant notes of spices and vanilla. – Sample $1.50
