Featured Wines:
Comtesse Marion Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Languedoc-Roussillon, France; $12.99
Comtesse Marion is located in the South of France on a historic property dating back to the 12th century. Managed by the Vic family, fifth generation wine growers with a focus on sustainable agriculture. Their wines are all estate grown and are free of pesticides and herbicides. Grown in rocky volcanic soils that add a nice minerality. Balanced acidity and produced in all stainless steel to retain as much freshness as possible. Crisp citrus; lemon zest and grapefruit with a mouth-watering salinity. – Sample $1.00
Comtesse Marion Pinot Noir 2020
Languedoc-Roussillon, France; $12.99
A Pinot Noir that tastes like Pinot Noir… Made of 100% Pinot Noir from 30+ year old vines grown along the Mediterranean coast in the village of Vias. Young, bright, and fruit forward. Silky texture with loads of wild strawberry and red cherry. – Sample $1.00
Pavette Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Lodi, California; $14.99
This is one of the many wine passion projects of Baron Ziegler. After selling his first major success Banshee Wines in 2018 to Foley Family (For an undisclosed amount… I’m guessing a lot of 0’s) Ziegler has begun to focus on smaller passion projects. At Marine Layer he works with some of the best cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast, at Halcon he believes he will one day rival the best Syrah from the northern Rhone, and with Pavette he likes to find killer value in hand selected plots of fruit from throughout the state of California.
The Cabernet is all grown in Lodi. Hot and dry, but the wine shows a lot of depth from the sandy soils. The flavors remind me of a dark chocolate covered cherry. Hints of that Kirsch liquor, currants, and plum, with a chocolatey finish from aging more than a year in oak. – Sample $1.50
Sean Minor Nicole Marie Red Blend 2019
North Coast, California; $19.99
Sean named this one after his wife Nicole. Perhaps with her character in mind when considering the blend, this baby is BOLD.
“This blend of 50% Merlot, 33% Zinfandel, and 17% Petite Syrah is a great value, with scents of ripe blackberry and toasty mocha. Black cherry preserves garner attention on first sip. An undertone of mountain brush, dried violets, and a thread of cassis carry it to a finish.” 90pts Tasting Panel – Sample $2.00
