This week is all Chilean! We are featuring four wines from Misiones de Rengo. A newer winery, established in 2001, but have already grown to be the best-selling premium wine brand in Chile. They just started exporting into the United States last year, and the wines are a truly a killer value.

Grab a flight of four of their wines for only $5!

Featured Wines:

Sauvignon Blanc 2020; $8.99

100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Central Valley. A very tropical and riper citrus style. Less grassy and green than many other Chilean Sauvignon Blancs. Flavors of pineapple, melon, and juicy tangerine with a very fresh finish. – Sample $1.00

Cabernet Sauvignon 2020; $8.99

Easy and approachable. Softer tannins in this fresh younger style of Cabernet. Blended with small amounts of Syrah that add more depth and dark fruit flavors. A portion is aged in oak for a short period to just help soften the edges. Just long enough to add some hints of vanilla and mocha to the rich blueberry, plum and blackberry flavors. – Sample $1.00

Gran Reserva “Cuvee” Carmenere 2019; $17.99

Sourced from the Rapel Valley, which runs between the Andes and Coastal mountain ranges. Split into two distinctly different wine valleys by the Rapel River. The Cachapoal Valley in the north receives more influence from the Andes with mineral rich melt water coming down from the mountain. The Colchagua Valley in the South gets hit more with air coming off the Pacific developing much higher acid and structured wines. The blend of different vineyards used in this cuvee bring the best of the region. Riper fruit forward grapes from the north and structure and body from the south. Good spice and lots of dark fruit flavors. – Sample $1.50

Gran Reserva “Black” Cabernet Sauvignon 2018; $19.99

For the Black label Cabernet Sauvignon we move north from Rapel up into the Maipo Valley. Often considered the Bordeaux of South America this area is all about the Cab. Grown in volcanic soil, all hand harvested, and then aged a year in French and American oak. Simply an amazing Cabernet for $20.

“Berry and black plum aromas are briary at first but soften with airing. This Cabernet is flush and fruity, with smooth tannins reflective of a good vintage. Spicy berry and cassis flavors come with a touch of oak, while this keeps its smoothness on a healthy finish.” 90pts Wine Enthusiast – Sample $2.00
