Joel Gott, fourth-generation vintner that grew up in the vineyards of California. His personal venture into the wine business began in 1993 when he and his brother purchased the Palisades Market, a grocery and wine shop in Napa. Three years later he took the leap with his now wife and together they started Joel Gott Wines with a focus on elegant, complex and food friendly wines, under $20. He now works with fruit all throughout the west coast, and has partnered with other vintners for projects all over the world.

Featured Wines:

1) Sauvignon Blanc 2019; $13.99

This is truly one of the stand outs of American Sauvignon Blanc, and at a price point to compete with the big New Zealand names. This will be less of the NZ grapefruit and gooseberry, instead much more tropical, riper citrus, and stone fruit. The grapes undergo a long, cold, slow fermentation to retain as much freshness as possible.

#21 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2020 “The lemon blossom, Asian pear, lime sherbet and candied orange peel notes are pure, fragrant, silky smooth and juicy, with intensity and a lift of freshness on the finish from a lemon verbena accent. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.” 92pts Wine Spectator - Sample $1.00

 2) Chardonnay 2019; $13.99

This is a beautiful fresh tasting unoaked Chardonnay. Sourced mainly throughout the Central Coast for excellent acidity and more tropical fruit character common from that region. Pressed as whole clusters and fermented in stainless steel. The result is a crisp Chardonnay with lots of ripe pear, apples, pineapple, melon and citrus. - Sample $1.00

 3) Palisades Red Blend 2017; $13.99

Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Alicante Bouschet / Malbec

This is the second release of the Palisades red. It is an incredible blend of sourcing locations to add lots of depth and complexity. Napa, Sonoma, Lake County, Monterey, Mendocino and Lodi come together to add the nuances of each particular region. Cabernet dominates, bringing lots of silky red fruit, notes of tobacco and vanilla. - Sample $1.00

 4) Cabernet Sauvignon 2018; $17.99

Swap the fruit from Lake County with Paso Robles and you’ll have a blend of regions very similar to the Palisades. In this bottling each region was fermented and aged separately before deciding on the final blend. Aged on average in oak for 18 months giving the wine balanced tannin and softness. Rich blackberry and cherry with hints of vanilla and clove. - Sample $2.00
