J. Lohr “Riverstone” Chardonnay 2019
Monterey, California; $12.99
Named Riverstone after soils found throughout their Chardonnay vineyards. It is an area shaped by the Arroyo Seco River that deposited sandy loam over thousands of years soils on top of the “riverstones”. That unique combination of soils plays a major part in the fruits balance of fruitiness and acidity. Barrel fermented and aged about 8 months in a combination of new and used oak from throughout the world.
“Opulent aromas of ripe pear, gardenia, apple and coconut show on the nose of this bottling. It’s racy with acidity on the sip, where a tart lemon flavor leads into apple blossom, poached pear and pineapple, with a slight butter tone on the finish.” 90pts Wine Enthusiast *Best Buy Award* - Sample $1.00
Juggernaut Pinot Noir 2019
Russian River Valley, California; $19.99
2019 marks the second vintage of this Pinot Noir from Juggernaut. This was a new label started by Bogle to showcase some hand selected vineyard plots, and make some very dense rich red wines. This Pinot is aged a full year in all French oak. Very smooth low tannin style with flavors of black cherry, plum, vanilla and a touch of spice. - Sample $2.00
Josh Legacy Red Blend 2019
California; $14.99
Started in 2007 by Joseph Carr as a tribute to his dad, Josh. The brand started with one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon which has grown to be the number one selling Cabernet in Ohio. The Legacy Red Blend is one of the more recent additions to the lineup. An ever-changing blend; the 2019 vintage features equal parts of Merlot and Zinfandel with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. Blueberry, plum, blackpepper, with some nuttiness and cedar from the oak. - Sample $1.50
J. Lohr “Seven Oaks” Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Paso Robles, California; $15.99
This is the main production out of J. Lohr’s estate on the east side in Paso Robles. They have outgrown that vineyard and have no also incorporated some fruit from their vineyards to the north Sinclair and Jones Ranches.
“For an affordable wine that’s available almost everywhere in the country, this bottling is hard to beat. Fresh aromas of black currant, elderberry, lilac, pepper and charcoal lead into a rich palate of cassis, oak and charred beef, all lifted by herbs and peppercorns.” 91pts Wine Enthusiast - Sample $1.50
