Friday Night Flights!

  • Country Fesh Farm Market 8425 Vine Street Cincinnati, OH, 45216 United States (map)

Going out with a bang on this one! It is going to be a $10 flight this week of Spanish wines. Crisp and refreshing Albarino followed by three incredible reds. Rich and flavorful, but smooth… Don’t miss the last tasting hosted by Carl!

Featured Wines:

1) O Fillo da Condesa Albarino 2020

Rias Baixas, Spain; $12.99

Fresh and beautiful. Not much to say about this delicious wine. It is from Lagar d Condesa, a project started by the Gil Family to showcase Albarino. No oak, aged on the lees for a couple of months to add texture. Lemony citrus, pear, peach, and green apple. A touch of floral undertone, good minerality, and a mouthwatering acidity. - Sample $1.00

 2) Ramirez de la Piscina Crianza 2016

Rioja, Spain; $17.99

100% Hand picked Tempranillo from the north side of the Ebro River in Rioja Alta. 15 Months in small oak barrels, blended and then let rest in tank for another 5 months before bottling.

A pure Tempranillo that uses fruit from Ábalos and San Vicente de la Sonsierra and is aged in mixed one-third new French and American oak barrels, this is always a good value buy from the Rámirez family, showing liquorice and crunchy blackberry fruit and supporting acidity.” - Sample $1.50

 3) Morca Godina Garnacha 2019

Campo de Borja, Spain; $29.99

Borja is known as the “Empire of Garnacha”, sitting at the foot of the Moncayo Mountain. The two Garnacha wines of Bodegas Morca deliver an intensity to the varietal that is completely unique. The Godina is their “entry level” bottling. A tiny 500 case production, made from 30-50 year old organically farmed bush vines, all hand picked, fermented in small batches and aged 15 months in all French oak. The wine clocks in at an intimidating 16%abv, but you can't taste any of it. Rich is an understatement, but it doesn't feel heavy. Elegant, soft with a surprising finesse for such a big wine. Black cherry jam, cigar box, anise and subtle oak spice. - Sample $3.00

 4) Bodegas Volver Triga 2016

Alicante, Spain; $56.99

 Monastrell / Cabernet Sauvignon

Summed up perfectly by Wine Enthusiast; “…drink only if rich and ripe reds are your thing.” Triga refers to the three mountain ranges that converge in this area of southeastern Spain. Bodegas Volver has vineyards located on the slopes of these mountains and this blend features some of their oldest vines across all three. Predominately made of ungrafted, organically farmed Monastrell planted between 1925 and 1935. Blended with some Cabernet Sauvignon to add more body and structure. Blueberry, fig, mocha, tobacco, leather, tar… Compare to Napa Cabs nearly doubling the price. - Sample $5.00
