Josh Pinot Gris 2018
Columbia Valley, Washington; $13.99
This is our newest addition to the store from one of our most popular brands, Josh. Sourced from Washington for a brighter acidity than would be typically found in California. It underwent a very slow cold fermentation to retain as much possible aroma. The nose shows bright citrus blossoms, honeydew melons and key lime pie. More stone fruit on the palate with almost a touch of ginger. - Sample $1.00
Raeburn Chardonnay 2017
Russian River Valley, California; $19.99
Russian River Valley produces some of the best Chardonnay California has to offer. The valley is very close to the Pacific coast so you get an excellent maritime climate with sunny days and good cold air blowing into the valley. Good ripening for lots of fruit flavors, but also good acid development to make a balanced creamy style. The Raeburn has been a go to recommendation for our staff. It has a very balanced approach with only a partial malolactic fermentation and split between stainless steel and a combination of French and American oak barrels. The wine delivers those toasty and vanilla undertones with pears, golden apples and nectarines. - Sample $2.00
Cline Old Vine Zinfandel 2017
Lodi, California; $9.99
Cline; one of my favorite California producers. Still family owned by Fred and Nancy Cline, pioneers of California's Rhone Rangers movement, and the largest holder of 100+ year old vines in the state. The winery sits on a 350 acre property in Carneros that is the original site of the 21st and final California Mission. The Lodi Old Vine Zin is a blend of grapes from Fowler Ranch dating back to 1942, Huber and Harney vineyards planted in 1962, and the Alpine vineyard planted in 1968. Aged 8 months in barrel to just soften and round out the wine with some notes of toasty vanilla. The wine shines with notes of juicy strawberry, plum and black cherry. JaM Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
California; $14.99
Made by the husband and wife team John and Michelle Anthony. They expanded beyond John Anthony Cellars in Napa Valley launching Butter Chardonnay in 2009 which exploded, becoming one of the biggest Chardonnay brands in the country. With a goal of bringing their expertise and quality to a line of wines at a more accessible price. The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from throughout the state emphasizing a “JaM”my smooth style. Lots of blackberry, plum, currant and cassis with a touch of vanilla through the finish from some oak aging. - Sample $1.00
