We are very excited that our friends at Vanguard have partnered with Carlo Huber Selections to bring these amazing wines into Cincinnati. Carlo Huber has an AMAZING selection of unbelievable Austrian wines with extremely high standards for their portfolio:

We will be featuring selections from Zum Martin Sepp out of Weinviertel in northeastern Austria and from Erwin Tinhof located in Burgenland on the east coast. The three wines from the Martin family are all estate fruit and in 1 Liter bottles so they an an unbelievable deal at $13.99! Finishing on the Wild Boar from Tinhof that shows a more robust style to the classic red grape of Austria, Zweigelt.

Zum Martin Sepp

Zum Martin Sepp is a small restaurant and inn located in Grinzing, a little town on the northern outskirts of Vienna. Michael and Freya Martin produce wine for the inn at Weingut Martinshof, their winery in the Weinviertel. For generations, the region has supplied wine almost exclusively for the Viennese market, with little or none exported to other countries or even other parts of Austria.

Weingut Erwin Tinhof

A member of the eleventh generation of his family to work in wine, Erwin Tinhof studied viticulture and oenology at the University of Montpellier and trained at the great Mas de Daumas Gassac. He now has 14 hectares of vineyards in Eisenstadt, located in the north of Burgenland, and recently completed the conversion to organic, certified in 2012. Tinhof focuses on older-vine (up to 55 years) Neuburger, Weissburgunder, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, and Sankt Laurent.

2015 “Zwei” Wild Boar – Leithaberg, Austria; $16.99

Zwei (German for “two”) refers to the two grapes Zweigelt and another Austrian varietal, Blaufrankisch that make up this wine. Bursting with blackberry and black cherry fruit and fun accents of lavender and spice, this has the zesty fruitiness of a Zinfandel with a more refreshing finish. - $1.25 Sample
