Trinchero Family Estates Wine Tasting

In 1947 Mario Trinchero moved from New York City to Napa Valley and the rest was history... They are now made up of 45 different brands, available in 47 countries, and are the fourth largest wine producer in the United States. They are originators... The first behind the red blend craze with brands like Menage a Trois and the first maker of White Zinfandel. They have a very balanced portfolio with everyday staples like Sutter Home and Menage a Trois along with killer premium brands like Napa Cellars and the Trinchero family label.

Enjoy a flight of four select wines from some of our favorite Trinchero labels for only $5!

Featured Wines:

2016 Pomelo Sauvignon Blanc; $11.99

California

Produced by Mason Cellars, who was purchased by Trinchero at the end of 2016. Consistently one of our best selling domestic Sauvignon Blancs. It is a great blend of fruit from Lake County, Monterey and Lodi giving it a balance of ripe juicy fruit with a crisp acidity. Aromas of fragrant white blossoms lead to white peach, melon and ripe citrus on the palate complemented by a lovely lemon curd finish. The perfect Sauvignon Blanc for those looking for less of the grapefruit. - 1.00 Sample

2016 Dona Paula Los Cardos Malbec; $8.99

Mendoza, Argentina

Dona Paula is a younger winery compared to many in Mendoza, but it is an incredible value. All of their wines including those in the Los Cardos series are produced from 100% estate grown fruit. They now manage more than 1500 acres of vineyards focusing on mainly traditional Bordeaux varietals. The “Los Cardos” or “The Thistle” series focuses on bright fruit forward expressions. This Malbec sees no oak, but still has a great depth of flavor. Big aromas of plums and violets with a touch of smoky spice. Super velvety. - $1.00 Sample

2015 Terra D'Oro Amador County Zinfandel; $17.99

Amador, California

“Land of Gold.” Amador County is part of the historic Sierra Foothills northeast of Sacramento. There are actually more grape varietals grown in this region than anywhere else in the United States. The rolling hills create hilltops and valleys that have micro-climates allowing for wonderful growing conditions for a wide variety of grapes.

Zinfandel from this region tends to be more balanced. It typically still gets those big ripe jammy fruit notes, but the region is not as hot and Lodi or Paso Robles so also expect more acid, black pepper and spice. After nearly 16 months in a mixture of French, American, and Hungarian oak this bold Zinfandel is filled with vibrant aromas of rich, spicy clove, big fruit and hints of vanilla. Dense juicy flavors of plums and blackberries with a big, bold, and long finish. - $1.50 Sample

2016 Joel Gott “815” Cabernet Sauvignon; $17.99

California

Now husband and wife Joel and Sarah started the winery about 20 years ago with the plans to produce single vineyard Zinfandels from throughout California. They found that actually blending the fruit from throughout California produced a more balanced well received style. With the success of their California Zinfandel and the launch of their Cabernet Sauvignon in 2003 the Gott wines were just exploding. The Cabernet is now our best selling wine from Joel Gott and this vintage is delicious. A blend of fruit from Napa, Sonoma, Lake County, Paso Robles, Mendocino, and Lodi. Coming from almost every appellation of northern California… Barrel aged about 18 months in mainly American oak only about 25% new.

...aromas of bright red fruit, black cherry and blackberry with notes of clove, vanilla and baking spices. The wine opens with dark, concentrated fruit flavors, followed y firm tannins on the mid-palate, and notes of cedar and coffee on the long, textured finish.” - $1.50 Sample
