This week we are featuring Carménère from Chile. Carménère originally came from Bordeaux France but due to phylloxera plague in the late 1800’s it was believed to be extinct for over 100 years. In 1994 it was discovered that it was growing in abundance in Chile. Today Chile is known as the adoptive home of this French grape variety that is famous for the bell pepper flavors it delivers.
